A recording of a show I presented back in 2006. It features a whole heap of tunes many of us grew up on with a little chat in between
As I prepare to launch my third publications, I share some words about the book and who it will appeal to.
My aim is to get my thoughts down to look back on and hopefully inspire others whilst doing so and to also be inspired by remembering those I’ve had around me.
Yesterday I found out that a friend in Australia took his own life. It’s been on my mind ever since. Through a trail of links I came across a suicide awareness course that anyone can take and I URGE everyone to take it. NOW. Here is the link – https://www.talksuicide.co.uk/
I’ve known about the booking for some time and now the line up has been revealed I am absolutely thrilled beyond words to see the likes of Schooly, Jus’ Neil, E Double D and the Journey Men on there alongside pretty much every DJ I love.
Nothing I write here will do this recording justice. Back around 1995, myself and a pal decided to fire up the decks after a heavy bank holiday weekend. What followed contains some of the best music and mixing from those crazy days alongside some priceless moments on the mic.
Here is a link to a priceless, two-hour workshop that was held at this year’s Vocal Booth Weekender. It features pearls of wisdom from Terry Hunter, Mad Mats and host, Sunlight Square.
I have finally gotten around to listening to all the awesome recordings from the event and am excited to hear back my closing set, live on my radio show tomorrow. Join me on Pressure at the usual time to relive those crazy scenes.
I took the opportunity to sit and chat at length and in depth with my ‘favourite’ Aunt the other week when she was over. Another snapshot of life in Britain growing up in a mix-raced relationship and a small look into Birmingham in the 70s an 80s.
A few words I wrote in the run up to VB2019 and a short video explaining how we got caught in one of the worst storms in 100 years.
The 2nd instalment of this 2 part interview, where we find out what happens when Simon relocates to Dubai.
