It’s no secret that our lives are totally saturated with online information, this company spamming for this service, that DJ sharing his latest mix which “you just have to hear as it’s the best in the world”, promoters shouting about their brilliant new party for 6 weeks and then not a word afterwards.. you get the picture !
Earlier this year I started WardsWebsites, I’ll give a full breakdown how it came about in my end of year blog but for this morning, while I wait for some content to arrive to finish my latest project, I thought I would explain why it is and what exactly it is I do.

I have been operating my own website for over 5 years now, when I was given this great new site by a kind soul who contacted me out of the blue and offered to build a site that represented me better than the rather shoddy affair I had put together alone. Of course I jumped at the chance. I then took baby steps in learning WordPress which was so easy to use to update my blog, but more importantly I slowly started to understand the structure of the site and what was once a load of numbers and letters totally baffling me started to make sense. Here I am, years later, building sites and customizing them for other people and helping bring their ideas to life.
I am the first to admit I am not the biggest web wizard, and yet I am fully aware of what I can and can’t do and am always learning new things every day. This is so exciting for me, it is so gratifying being able to deliver someone their first website which has all they could wish for and then some, all my years of experience in self-promotion and the tools needed to fully utilise the net are an added extra you would not get with some web nerd who would charge you up to three times what I do.
There are still a lot of people who aren’t aware of this ‘new’ venture of mine. Despite mentioning it every few weeks and the cheeky plug on my shows alongside mentions in the VB programme and a logo on the lanyard, I was recently contacted by one of the VB Family after a chance mention in an online conversation. It just goes to show, you can never push something enough to reach everyone today ! I guess that is the main reason for this blog, to repeat what I mentioned in an earlier one, if you truly want success nowadays, whatever your field, you have to make your marketing and self-promotion one of THE most important factors of your business.
