This September, The Vocal Booth returns to the shores of the Costa Blanca for another weekend of world class parties, provided by world class talent.
After the phenomenal success of the first weekender celebrating 10 years of “The Booth”, we add a twist on a proven formula to guarantee another event destined to be second to none.
First and foremost, the event was started for a few people that converse weekly inside the chat room of the radio show. No one could have envisaged how the weekend would have turned out. This year looks set to be even bigger and better, yet we will truly focus on keeping that intimate, personal atmosphere.

OFFICIAL PARTY DATES – FRI 17th & SAT 18th SEPT

Thursday evening – the pre party for anyone wishing to make the most of the weekend. Andy Ward goes live on the internet across the world in front of the few already arrived and settled into the hotel, followed by a selection of carefully chosen DJs who show their support religiously in the chat room.
Friday – As ‘The Family’ start to arrive & check in, DJs will spend the day spinning sun-soaked grooves poolside and catching up with friends they talk to every week inside the chat room. As the sun sets, take the 30 second walk to the neighbouring night club and get the party started, rocking to the early hours of the morning with international DJs and clubbers alike.
Saturday afternoon and the action switches poolside for the Triple S Sessions. Relax on the plush poolside furniture and dine on the finest local cuisines under the blazing September sun. Again, on the evening the action moves to the club for more of the wonderful music The Booth is known and loved for.
Sunday afternoon, many leave for the airport while the few who know what to expect remain. More poolside action while people chill and prepare themselves for the after party.. the infamous Sunday Lockdown, the true sound of the Underground. There isn’t a dry eye in the house as the curtains close on another weekend that people will be talking about the world over for weeks to come (see latest blog updates for info on further parties !)
THE AREA
La Dehesa de Campoamor, Alicante (NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH CAMPOMAR) is a village in the very south of the Costa Blanca, bordering on the Costa Calida.
The climate is probably the best in Spain, and there being no heavy industry anywhere near this area it is considered by The World Health Organisation to be one of the healthiest places in the world to live (the reason I moved here).
Campoamor village itself is very “Spanish”. It is a blend of high rise apartment blocks, all with fantastically kept gardens, and hundreds of beautiful villas in and around the protected pine forested area.
There are several restaurants, a pizza House, Ice cream parlour, supermarket, chemist and a very good gift shop.
A few minutes walk in the opposite direction from El Mirador takes you up to the Costa de Orihuela “Strip” commonly known as Cabo Roig. Here you will find numerous, bars, cafes, clubs, etc. This area is a hive of activity until well into the early hours, and is in complete contrast to the quiet, laid back village just the other side of the bay. A short taxi ride of approx. €10 euro will get you there.

ALTERNATIVES
Palmera Beach Apartments – A cheaper option than the main hotel, yet still a wonderful establishment, a mere 15 minute walk along the beach to the main hotel/nightclub. Although it has all you require for a relaxing break, this is relatively far from any other action and will require a cab ride to most places other than the parties.
Priced at €35 euro per room, per night (TOTAL, not per person !)
Please Note: There are limited rooms at this ridiculously low price.
This is an aparthotel and consists of two double bedrooms, a living area and kitchen. It has four single beds and can comfortably accommodate 5 people, using the sofa bed. It is perfect for extended stays. Full information on their web site.

Slightly more expensive than Palmera apartments and slightly further to walk to in the opposite direction, although still a leisurely 20 minutes away from the action (3 mins/10€ in a cab).
This is brand new accommodation that sleeps up to 4 people in a two bedroom apartment, including lounge and diner area with small terrace. There are only two of the 3 bedroom apartments available for 6 people.
The ideal location means you are right in the thick of the action for before/after the Weekender takes place. Right on the Cabo Roig strip, it’s a typical English area you’d expect in a holiday resort with pubs, cafes, gift shops, supermarkets and restaurants.
What you gain in amenities you lose in pool space, with a tiny one right outside the front door and not really the kind of space you would like to lie around sipping on cocktails.

We strongly recommend flying into MURCIA airport, cost in a private taxi – €40, ALICANTE airport will cost €70 in a taxi (approx)
Please consider these extra costs when looking at your flight savings into Alicante (the larger airport and generally slightly cheaper).
FLIGHT TRANSFERS
A private transfer service will be handling transfers for multiple groups from both airports which could save you money. Once you have booked your flight email Brian (upts1108@aol.co.uk) and let him know your flight times to see if he can fit you in an airport run. This is especially relevant for anyone traveling alone, it is highly likely you will be on the same flight as other people attending. Due to the sheer volume of people coming, there will only be so many he can accommodate, I will try to source other companies for you.
Anyone coming for a few days may even find hiring a car a cheaper option, the venue is very easy to find with only one major road to navigate from both airports.
