Happy New Year

01.01.2012

2011 is dead.  Long live 2012.  Happy New Year folks !

In true rock & roll fashion I was tucked up in bed last night as the clock struck midnight, trying to keep the dog from going mental and having a heart attack from the fireworks going off outside.  They love loud fireworks in Spain, especially near to the beach where we live.  I wouldn’t mind if they were the pretty ones that the kids could look at.. these are just massive bombs going off in darkness, practically over our roof.  I stayed awake an extra hour, just long enough to see in New Year for the UK crew.  I gave a little cheer in my head and fell asleep.

I woke up bright and early to clear, crisp blue skies and the serenity of a quiet estate.  It’s always quiet here apart from national holidays or, of course, the summer.  The first thing I did was to check Traxsource.  Christmas 2010 saw Soul Central at number 1 with the remixes of Song for Sharma. We just missed out this year for a Christmas No. 1 although I can happily say that we are the first number 1 of 2012 on Traxsource.  It is funny how people think it is going to make me rich, I’d like to think this opens up a plethora of gigs, remixes, opportunities and more.  Fact of the matter is, it probably won’t bring anything new ‘to the table’.  Again, who knows ? Let’s wait and see !

I have added a couple of new images to the homepage of my website to give it a slight change of appearance, although everything still works exactly the same (If nothing looks any different, refresh your screen).  Respect to Benjamin @ Artillery for creating the site in the beginning, I have learnt a lot from him and the site, so much so that in a few weeks the new look Vocal Booth Weekender site will go live.  It’s a project I did all by myself and one I am quite proud of, even though it is fairly straight forward, it still threw some challenges at me that I was happy to finally conquer.  Thanks to Renato @ Mitra & Walti Communications for getting me the domain to begin with.

I’ve done a couple of runs over the holiday period and am now keen to get back into my running, squash and the gym.  I have set up a group on Facebook for all my friends who want to motivate each other… if you want to get involved then join here.

The kids just woke up and we had a New Year group hug and dance.. I’ve lost my train of thought.  I’m only rambling now anyway.  I just wanted to wish you (again) all the best for the year and wouldn’t even dream of telling you there are only 8 more pay days until the Vocal Booth Weekender.   If you have a pay-day that is !  I think 2012 is going to be a very tough one for a lot of people financially, together we’ll beat the bastard.

I hope the world doesn’t end this year as everyone keeps predicting.
