April update

Much of the content  is removed from the server after a few weeks.

Most radio shows and mixes should be available on my Mixcloud Channel or YouTube Archives

If there is anything specific you are after that you cannot find, get in touch as I hopefully have it saved on my Hard Drive.

April update

I start this blog a little agitated…Annoyed once more at another small minded individual who thinks he is a lot more important than he is, believing that the world of soulful house music only exists because of his involvement. Well, my friend, I can only apologise for your lack of success thus far and wish you all the very best for the future, your big break after 25 years is just around the corner !!
And breath… big smile and….
Hello !! Welcome to April. Summer is here, kind of. It is a glorious day and I currently have my mom staying with us so all is lovely in the Ward household.
A few words letting you know where things are at, hopefully you’ll be up to speed anyway from the radio show.
Talking of radio show, let me kick off with a notice about something we are going to try out. On Tuesday 19th April I will be broadcasting a pilot episode of The Vocal Booth Australia. This will go out at 8.30pm Australia time and allow fans of the regular Thursday podcasts to get involved live. I have a feeling it could work well and I look forward to this immensely.

Last week I announced the completed line up for the VBW and it has been a rather crazy weekend to say the least. Non stop messages of congratulations and excitement (except one rather unhappy superstar) have put me on cloud nine and I now have the chance to settle back from it all and let the event take care of itself for a month or so.
Gigs
This weekend sees my first gig since Australia ! I am pumped to be returning to Bournemouth for the legendary Bump n Hustle party. Full details here.
Saturday 16th sees the first Vocal Booth Reunion of the year in London at East Village, full details here.
Sunday 17th you can catch me in Coventry for a very exclusive UKG set for the very luxurious WWJD. Full details here. I spent a few days last week recording some vinyl to CD and I definitely am keen to give an airing to some BIG, lesser known tracks.  I’ll do a mix with the tunes on my return.
My Thoughts

I was surprised at the response to the last blog and mix I posted, again I have to say thanks for all the feedback you gave. At the risk of repeating myself, it really is great being able to throw thoughts down knowing it reaches out to people who relate to them. I am always conscious of not writing nonsense for the sake of it but will continue to share with you as and when the need arises. I will also carry on loading some of the ‘tougher’ sets as requested.

I thought there was loads to share when I started this but I think that’s about it… maybe check back another day to see if I added anything onto the end.
Be good my friends and I’ll catch you out and about shortly or on air this weekend.
(oh, apologies for no VBCS this week, Episode 69 will come in two weeks time.)
EDIT :  I remember what else I wanted to tell you about.. the great new T shirt designs now in the VBW store

Set For Love: Andy Ward 3 Hour Vinyl Only Session.

Recorded live on Friday 22nd March, World Water Day 2024, this audio-only extract is from a live stream in conjunction with Last Night A DJ Saved My Life and CastRooms. A fantastic session and a really great showreel of my musical tastes and mixing skills which I’ve taken so much pride in down the years.
